Can’t fault this B&B -lovely room and immaculately clean and stocked. The lounge area is great as we had a take away in the evening. There is a coffee machine provided as well. Breakfast all freshly cooked and a great choice. Staff lovely and a great location near the park & ride. If we come back to Cambridge we will definitely return

We have just stayed at The Old School House Rooms for two nights and don't have a bad thing to say about our stay. Everywhere is immaculately clean, the breakfast was to die for and the hosts, Lisa and Phil could not have been more welcoming. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return. Delightful stay at The Old School House. It was very organised and spotlessly clean. We had the continental breakfast and there was more than sufficient choice for us . What a little gem! Easy self check in which was very straight forward. Lovely clean rooms with everything we needed. Situated on a village green with pubs and a village shop. Friendly host and amazing breakfast. We will be back!

The bedrooms and shared lounge were comfortable, smart and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and friendly. If I needed to stay in Waterbeach again, for business or pleasure, I would not hesitate to book the Old School House Rooms again.

We had such a lovely stay! The bed was so comfortable, everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. Phil and Lisa are welcoming and friendly. The breakfast quality is excellent, and the guest lounge is a lovely touch.We had an issue with our shower, and Phil and Lisa dealt with it so quickly. They were communicative and resolved the issue very swiftly. It was a masterclass in how to deal with unforeseen issues.It is conveniently placed to explore Cambridge and Ely, with just a short walk to the train station.Highly recommend a visit!

Very easy direct booking and entry information was messaged on the day.The room was well presented with all the extras you could want, variety of hot drinks, biscuits and bottled water and toiletries. In addition there is a well equipped lounge where you could eat takeaway food.The breakfast was excellent. The full English didn't disappoint and was the best I have ever seen.Would definitely stay again if we're in the area.

We are so grateful to the owners for providing a comfortable clean room which was available to us all day, as was a large conservatory with refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities. Best of all was a wonderful breakfast cooked to order with a superb choice of hot and cold foods available.

Absolutely fantastic stay,rooms well presented with all facilities, great breakfast,brilliant breakfast and great hosts...intact we have booked to stay in November and December to see our sons who lives in the village..highly recommended.

Two couples going to Newmarket Race Night wanted somewhere close to stay over. We found this gem of a B&B and were so happy with it. The attention to detail could not have been more impressive. We love having the opportunity to stay at The Old School House Rooms. On inw of the hottest nights of the year we were perfectly comfortable. The rooms are restful and immaculate breakfast was made with quality ingredients.

Earlier this month I was visiting Cambridge & as I've done on previous occasions I had no hesitationaboutbooking with 'The Old School House Rooms' Waterbeach. (It's very close to Cambridge). It's a very pleasant friendly hotel, absolutely no problems with anything.It always has top quality rooms, together with top notch breakfasts it doesn't matter what sort of cooked breakfast I have I always finish with a lovely fresh fruit salad.It's so good I'm looking forward to visiting this area again so that I can stay at this top quality hotel again.

Lisa and Phil are great hosts and always good the extra mile. They set a very high standard for B&B's.The rooms are very well appointed, and the beds are super comfortable.The Old School House is very central in Waterbeach and only a 5 minute walk to the station for excursions into either Cambridge or Ely. Also, it's only a 5 minute drive from the Cambridge park and ride.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay at The Old School House. All the little extras ie the biscuits, little chocolates, quality full English breakfast, as well as the beautiful bed linen and shared lounge with a coffee machine and fridge,made it a place we’d definitely return too. What can I say! Second time of staying here. Phil and Lisa are superb hosts, the banter flowed freely! The rooms are beautifully presented and the breakfasts a gastronomic delight. Cannot fault this place and will be returning again.

Lovely en-suite room with a very comfy bed; definitely good quality. Beautiful white fluffy towels with hi end shower gel in the bathroom. They seem to think of everything in the room; a variety of teas and coffee; biscuits, water and even little chocolates.🍫 And I was pleasantly surprised to find a hair dryer with a defuser!! Even in large hotels I have never found one supplied. (Very curly hair which can easily do a Tina Turner on me if I don’t use one).We have friends in the village and will definitely be returning.

We stayed at the Old School House Rooms because we were visiting a local brewery and then heading into Cambridge in the evening. The location was ideal as we could easily walk to the brewery and then to Waterbeach train station with Cambridge being a quick 10 minute train journey.Our room as nice and cosy. We got a good nights sleep and the breakfast in the morning was just what we needed for a journey back home.

Rooms were well equipped and quiet with car parking at the rear.Hosts extremely friendly and helpful.A short walk to station with regular trains into Cambridge (a ten minute journey).Good local pubs for evening meals.

What a wonderful place the school house is to stay at. Checking in was so easy. The rooms were lovely, clean and very comfortable. Our one night stay was absolutely perfect in every way. Lisa & Phil are the most helpful hosts we have ever come across. From the minute we arrived they freely offered their assistance and advice. The room was very clean accommodating an extremely large comfortable bed with quality linen. The on suite bathroom fittings were of the highest quality with a large walk in shower. Breakfast (ordered in advance the previous evening from an extensive menu) was outstanding in both quality and presentation. The only regret we have is that we never found this delightful B&B before now. Thank you Lisa & Phil. Hope to stay with you again sometime.

There is everything you need here. Nice clean room and shower room. Comfy bed. There's a lounge area if you don't want to sit in your room. So much choice for breakfast, presented lovely and tasted good too! I would certainly stay again and would definitely recommend it. :-)

This little hidden gem near Cambridge is probable the best B & B we have stayed in. There was everything you could need/want, it was very comfortable, quiet, convenient location. The owners were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing.

We stayed for 5 nights here and can honestly say this is the best B&B we’ve stayed in. We were warmly greeted and shown to our room where Phil quickly ran through how things worked. Everything was spotless clean and youhad everything you needed including things you hadn’t thought of! There was a lovely lounge area complete with tv, sofa, fridge, microwave, tea etc so you could sit there one evening if you wished and have something to eat. Although it was full we never heard any noise from other guests. Breakfast was freshly cooked, you could choose exactly what you wanted so there was no waste. Car parking was at the rear. Phil gave us helpful advice on where to go ea h day if we needed it. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this b&b to anyone and would use again if we were every in the area again.

This property is absolutely what you would want when spending a few days from home. It is clean, tidy, welcoming but also luxurious and worth whatever you pay for your stay. The rooms is well laid out, the bed so comfortable, all toiletries are fantastic & towels fresh & clean. There is a conservatory lounge where you can enjoy Starbucks range of coffees in the Dolce Gusto coffee machine. You can also eat in this space as cutlery & dinnerware along with wine glasses are provided for your use. There are toys for younger children in a space that looks like it is designated just for them but it is casual not confining.The breakfast were delicious along with the variety of continental breakfast items. Juices, tea & coffee are available and even Marmite.This property was recommended to me & I glad it was.Faye is a real asset to this property & reflects the high standards that are achieved throughout the property.

Our second stay here. We were in the area to visit our daughter justdown the road who had a houseful already so we jumped at the chance to stay at The Old School Rooms again! Our room etc very cosy and clean and Fay was very attentive and accommodating at breakfast both days - generous portions and everything freshly cooked. The fresh fruit salad was very impressive with lots of fresh berries. We did get tied in knots though with the menu selectionthough Fay managed to decipher what we wanted!A lovely touch to have the use of the communal lounge if we needed itThanks for a lovely stay and we hope the opportunity arises for us to return again.Best regards Yvonne and Dave Montague

The Old School House fills a gap in accommodation-poor Cambridge, between wildly expensive luxury hotels and cheap chains. It's bright, clean and very comfortable, with a useful sitting room and big handsome breakfast room. Breakfasts are spectacular in range and quality. Everything you could want. Comfy beds (my mum, who struggles to sleep, got 8 hours) and plenty of bathroom space. We will be back.

Another great stay at the Old School House Rooms.We had a super king room which had everything we needed including a very large comfortable bed.The included breakfast was lovely too.It’s wasn’t our first stay here and won’t be the last.It’s well placed in the village and if you want to go into the city centre of Cambridge the park and ride or the train station is five minutes by car.You can also get the train into Ely there.Great owners and very friendly.Well worth the money.

We decided to stay here as it had wonderful reviews and was extremely close to a venue we were attending.I spoke with Lisa on several occasions before arrival as I was travelling with my sister and we were unsure of times etc. However Lisa made everything possible.We arrive and found our room immediately, which was light and bright with the most amazing bedding, lovely touches, tea/ coffee/biscuits/ water.. bathroom was wonderful, heated towels, Rituals bath products..My sister forgot her hair straighteners but once again, this was not a problem as Lisa appeared with some immediately. Inc in our price was breakfast the next day, fresh warm pastries, fresh fruit, fresh juice, any kind of coffee, full English, omelettes… porridge.. you name it… it’s available.Also a beautiful conservatory at the back to relax where you can make your own tea and coffee.The old School House parking for approx 6 cars at the rear and off street parking, it is nestled nicely in the village of Waterbeach approx 10/15 min drive/ park to Cambridge City, so ideally situated for exploring around.I would highly recommend this beautiful home from home B & B… that Lisa and her husband run so superb.Hope to return ourselves soon. Lisa and Phil were perfect hosts, the rooms were comfortable clean well furnished, breakfast was super and the location was perfect, on what was possibly the old village green.Cambridge city centre is 10 minutes away by train too.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Old School House. Rooms are little but equipped with everything that's needed, the overall environment is extremely clean and cozy. You always feel welcome and the owners are careful to the guest's needs and extremely friendly. I highly reccomend if both for business and family trips and I myself plan to come back as soon as possible.

I had a social event in Cambridge on a Saturday night and needed an overnight hotel. The Cambridge Hotels were very expensive with extra charges for parking and breakfast. The Old School House was an easy alternatove. Just 12 minutes on the train to get to Cambbridge. Room rates are very reasonable plus free parking and breakfast included...and Oh my goodness, what a breakfast...amazing!!. Add to this fantastic accomodation, very clean and a wonderful hostess. I rarely put reviews on line ....I only do so for people that deserve it. Lisa, you deserve it. Many thanks. You have a my 5 star vote.

This was our second stay at the the “ old school room” and once again a very pleasant experience. The rooms are always immaculate and the Rituals products much appreciated. The breakfast had so much choice no one could be left disappointed. We were very well looked after and hope to return again soon.

The rooms are immaculate and very comfortable with a communal lounge should you wish to relax away from the bedroom. with microwave, fridge, kettle and TV. This was such a lovely place to stay.The host Lisa, her husband and house keeper were so friendly and looked after us well.It was so clean in the B & B, the smell of fresh laundry was very homely.Breakfast was easy to order the night before and it was served fresh and promptly at the time I booked.Such a lovely experience and I would really like to return.Very clean with nice products to use in the bathroom with exceptionally fluffy big towels.

We just stayed the one night at The Old School House rooms. The room was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was fab, very generous quantities. Lovely coffee and excellent friendly service. What more could you ask for?

i stayed for only the one night but i will be staying again for sure, the rooms are lovely and clean the host cant do anymore for you. the bathrooms are clean. i had a lovely breakfast and again they do everything you could think of a more. there are local pubs and shops across so lots of choice for food and there is a small area for you to eat and watch tv so you aren't just in your room all night.Thank you Lisa and Team for an amazing stay

Another great stay.This time we had a super king room which was lovely.Plenty of space, a very comfy bed and everything we needed for our stay.The bathroom was well laid out and equipped.The included breakfast was excellent.This place offers great value for money and is well located in the village.The park and ride is about a 5 minute drive away.Will definitely be staying again.

Beautiful, spotless, amazing facilities, super friendly hosts, wonderful food, a0fter staying in various chain hotels around the country this was a wonderful treat. To be able to relax in the lovely conservatory, have ap decent coffee (huge choice of other drinks) and watch TV from a comfy chair rather than being cooped up in a bedroom was a real treat. The extras (and there are many) really made the difference toweary solo traveller. And breakfast wow.. so much choice and beautifully freshly cooked using top quality ingredients all laid out better than any 5 star hotel I have been to. I was lucky enough to to book for Sunday lunch it was faultless. I only wish I ha0d known about the afternoon tea that was just finishing when I arrived...Next time .Thank you ❤️

I had to take my car to a specialist service company on Cambridge Research Park which is less than 2 miles from The Old School Rooms.As I live 60 miles away and I had to take the car in at 8am I needed to stay somewhere the night before and the Old School Rooms was perfect for that purpose.I am not able to comment on the breakfastas my courtesy car took so long to get organised that I did not get back in time for breakfast which ended at 9am

The Old School House Rooms is a lovely place to stay in Waterbeach. The room was comfortable and very well thought out.Some of the room's highlights are: USB chargers exactly where you need them, sockets in easily reached areas, a special make up mirror which gives perfect lighting in the bathroom, extra soft fluffy towels (and lots of them), an extremely comfortable bed, good quality pillows and linen, a large flat screen TV, and good light blocking blinds at the window.I could go on, but hopefully you get the drift!The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had - it was cooked to perfection and was fresh. I was given a choice of toast (I had gluten free), juice, tea or coffee (various types!), pastries, full English, or a variation of it, Eggs Royale, Eggs Benedict...the list went on!I was offered a choice of times to have my breakfast - and they are very flexible!The lounge for the guests is a nice touch - here you can get extra drinks or relax with a paper.The umbrellas (for guests) by the entrance were useful - this is the type of extra thought that the lovely proprietor (Lisa) has for her guests.I was shown around and made to feel comfortable by Lisa as soon as I arrived, and was told if I needed anything at all to just ask. (I actually needed some toothpaste which I forgot and Lisa gave me some!)The area is nice - the house faces a green and Lisa pointed out the best places to eat, and pointed out the pharmacy, shops, post office and a take away - all literally a stones throw away.I was travelling as a single female and Lisa made me feel totally at home. Very friendly + obliging owner with a fantastic choice of fresh foods for breakfast. We stayed in a lovely, clean double room with en-suite shower. It is only a 5 min drive to a Cambridge park n ride, + is half way between Cambridge + Ely so very convenient for workers + tourists.

Travelling as a couple, we enjoyed our 2 night stay. The welcome was warm and helpful; the room was clean and well-appointed; and there was car parking at the rear of the property. Breakfast was full of choice and well prepared. The accommodation was well situated for our short break (including a visit to Anglesea Abbey) and there was a friendly pub/restaurant just across the green.

Really nice clean rooms and a good breakfast. Definitely a step up from your normal B&B. In fact much better than the normal standard chain hotels

Stayed here for one night as we were attending a family party nearby.The room was immaculate and well stocked.We especially liked the fresh water and chocolate.The little touches were amazing.Breakfast was outstanding and cooked fresh to order.Would definitely return.My only gripe was I was a little cold in the night and I don’t think the radiators had kicked in yet - but that could be personal preference.Would not stop me returning though.

The location is great, close to pubs, a couple of local shops and takeaway food if you wanted it. A village location that was busy enough to be interesting but not in any way noisy or too much. Our room was spotless and finished to a high standard. The guest lounge at the end of the corridor was great with extra tea/coffee facilities and glasses for wine, a fridge if you needed it and a table to eat at or sofas to lounge on. Breakfast was lovely, completing your dining options the night before meant there was no waiting around either. the number of options and high quality of food and presentation meant breakfast was a very enjoyable experience.We would definitely stay here again.

Had a lovely stay at the Old School House in September 2022. Room was clean and modern, with easy self check in option allowing us to arrive fairly late into the evening.Staff really went the extra mile to make my partners birthday special after mentioning it in my booking form. A balloon, card and bottle of Prosecco was waiting for us in the room and really added to his day and our overall stay. Thank you!Breakfast was lovely with lots of options and good food.

Easy keypad entry into the property & a quiet & very clean room with all the usual touches you would expect from a more expensive property. The bed was very comfortable. What an amazing B&B. I have been coming to Cambridge now for 3 years, and have stayed in lots of different hotels and B&B's this is by far the best. Very comfortable rooms with a really big ensuite with walk-in shower. Coffee pod machine in guest lounge (free), and simply the best full breakfast I've had in years. The location is a few miles out from the city centre, but it's only £15 in an Uber, 2 pubs and 2 shops within 1 minute walk and a Chinese takeaway! I will definitely be staying here again.

Fantastic stay again, have not been here for some months now and it was lovely to catch up with Lisa and crew. Everything spotless, great breakfast, and just to be in the welcoming company was a pleasure. We would not stay anywhere else if visiting the area. It is the attention to detail that one may appreciate and we certainly did. The beds were comfortable. Room size was adequate. Had a lovely 3 night stay at this beautiful guest house in Waterbeach. Always made very welcome, by both Lisa and Nikki and also their staff too. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and well decorated. Comfortable, good size room and the little extras such as a mint, water. biscuits etc. add a special touch. The conservatory/ lounge is very good and the range of drinks, biscuits etc. is a real plus especially the coffee machines! Top quality breakfasts although a little odd having to choose the night before as one often changes ones' mind, but I do appreciate why it is done

We’ve stayed at some excellent B&B’s and this ranks as one of the very best. The location, if visiting Cambridge, is superb….. 10 minutes walk to the Station. The main building overlooks the village green. The welcome from our Hostess, Lisa, was warm and sincere. The room met our expectations. Breakfast was delivered to a very high standard. There is also an extremely well appointed and stocked Conservatory for guests to enjoy. In conclusion, “Top Notch” in every way.

Only quibble (minor) was that the shower was underpowered, but that may be due to local water pressure being a bit low.

It was a pleasure to return after a bit ofbresk and we were made most welcome. Ghe facilities are first class and the room very confortable. It was a lovely breskfast. We look forward to returning next week.

We can recommend this place as it has very comfortable, clean rooms.It is well situated in the village with local pubs and shops nearby but it’s nice and quiet.The included breakfast was excellent with a good choice.The hosts were friendly, polite and efficient.The only thing I could say as a negative was the shower wasn’t very powerful other than that very good and would definitely stay again.

The first time we stayed at The Old Schoolhouse was because we had a family medical crisis. Lisa could not have been more caring. Since then whenever we visit our daughter and daughter in law who live in Waterbeach we stay here. The rooms are lovely with super comfy beds, the extensive breakfast menu is always a real treat. Since our last visit, Lisa has started offering Sunday lunch to guests and non guests.The next time we are down for the weekend we will surely sample one along with our daughters who being vegan have been catered for too. We can't praise Lisa's establishment too highly. 5 stars all round.

We loved our stay here. Our room was well styled and the Buddha bathroom was lovely. Ritual soaps and shampoos gave it a luxury feel. Our breakfasts were gorgeous and my vegan daughter was fully catered for. We really enjoyed our stay.

What can I say more than it was perfection in every category! Bedroom, dining room and day room are all furnished, equipped and decorated to the highest standards of quality, comfort, convenience and visual delight. The staff could not be more warm and friendly, and were helpful beyond the call of duty. I wish I could cook a breakfast as delectable as those served to me here! As implied in the title, the Old School House Rooms are run, by the charming Lisa, as a B&B, but with an attention to detail that would put quite a few 4* hotels to shame.The rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh, supplied generously with toiletries, refreshments and a reasonably-priced mini-bar. An equally generous breakfast was cooked to order, with a number of choices available for all appetites.My wife and I, as it happens on this occasion, enjoyed sole use of the shared conservatory lounge (again stocked with free refreshments, magazines, newspapers, etc.) and terrace.As for location, the building is on one side of the attractive triangular village green, within stumbling distance of two pubs, a pharmacy and a convenience store. Cambridge city centre is a 20-minute drive away, or 10 minutes on the hourly train from Waterbeach station. If you're cycling, there are a few bridleways and footpaths out of the village. and The Bridge gastro-pub, on the Cam, is a short, easy ride away (you could even walk it, I think).My only suggestion for improvement would be the water pressure in the shower, which I imagine is a challenge to achieve in an old building, and a common issue in hotels, I find. Notwithstanding this "feature", I wouldn't hesitate to return and would encourage others to visit.

Such an enjoyable stay at the Old School Rooms. It's in a great location with bus services and train, and easy drives to Ely etc.Lisa and her daughter were perfect hosts too, good to talk with and gave us lovely breakfasts. I wasn't sure what to expect as when I booked the hotel there weren't many to choose from for our trip to Newark Races. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely stay again. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious and the rooms were beautiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at The Old School House with friends as we were attending an event at Newmarket Racecourse. Lisa could not have been more obliging and helpful. We were able to have an early check in to get ready and she could not do enough for us. The bedrooms are modern and stylish, the beds very comfortable and breakfast superb! We took the train from the village into Cambridge for the day on the Saturday - 9 minutes so a great location. I would totally recommend The Old School House and cant wait to return in the near future and see how Lisa's plans are coming on. There is a lodge to stay in on site too and this also looks great.

Returning to the Old Schoolhouse is always a pleasure. We were visiting Cambridge on holiday and found The Old School House Rooms in Waterbeach, to be the ideal location for our stay.We found this attractive accommodation to be just as ideal. Incredibly well presented, with every detail to make our stay as comfortable as possibleprovided and then some! So many lovely touches were included from lovely bathroom products, to copious quantities of tea, coffee and water in our well appointed room. In the morning we were served the most delicious breakfast, all freshly prepared and presented by our wonderful host Lisa. We cannot recommend this place enough. Accommodation is lovely, breakfast is FANTASTIC. Location is great. All in all a brilliant stay and we will definitely be returning. A huge thank you to Lisa and the team.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Old School House Rooms and really enjoyed our time. The rooms are modern, clean, well equipped and maintained to a high standard. The breakfast was great with quality food and drink, with plenty of choice. Covid restrictions reduced room tidying (not needed anyway as the room was already spotless) but any extras you may have needed (clean glasses, bottled water, more coffee, etc) was provided for in the lounge area. The host (Lisa) was very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Will hopefully visit again; but stay a little longer next time.

I had a one-night stay, two rooms, me and a pal - coming up for our annual fishing trip to the Fens. I can't rate it highly enough - the B & B is in a great location, the rooms are superbly appointed and immaculate, the breakfast choice was incredibly varied, and cooked to perfection. The host, Lisa, is very welcoming and helpful. and I'll be back in 2022 without question. If you are staying in or near Cambridge, this is the place for you. Brilliant.

We arrived on spec after finding our planned accommodation unsuitable. The owner was very helpful and showed us the available rooms. She was understanding to our situation and made us feel welcome.The room were lovely and cosy, quiet,clean and well prepared with tea, coffee etc with further supplies readily available in the lounge. Mini bar well stocked and prices reasonable.Highly recommended and would definitely stay there again.

Friendly but unobtrusive, the owner ensures you have everything you need and is efficient at getting anything requested, without being overwhelming. The Old School House Rooms is conveniently located just outside Cambridge with access by foot to a local railway station, good car parking and local shops and food venues. The property has a very nice lounge and the rooms are well fitted out. Breakfast service is still available and the property has decent Wi-fi

I don't often leave reviews but after such a great experience I felt the need to this time. The bedrooms, lounge and dining room were all spacious and comfortable with every facility to hand. The whole place was very well decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was fantastic and best of all Lisa was the perfect host; nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

We have just returned from a 4 x night stay at The Old School House Rooms and can honestly say it is amazing. The owner, Lisa was very welcoming, friendly and she made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were spotless and lovely toiletries provided, tea coffee etc also provided, breakfast was very good and being able to park the car on site is a real bonus. Lisa has also included a day room in the property for use by the residents if they need it, this is brilliant for families as there is a microwave, fridge and tea/coffee machine available for guests to use. We certainly recommend Old School House and cannot wait to make a return visit.An added bonus is there are good restaurants, shops, a pharmacy within a few steps away, and the station is only a 5 x minute walk away. There is a lovely village feel about the location, and lovely walks and places to visit are a stones throw away.

I was greeted with a warm welcome. The rooms are spotless and very comfortable, supplied with everything for a relaxing stay. The breakfast was freshly prepared and offered a great start to the day. If you have any concerns about COVID-19 I felt that everything was being done to make you feel safe. I would highly recommend The Old School House not only is it perfectly situated for visits to the beautiful university town of Cambridge, but London is a short train trip away and don’t forget the peacefulsurrounding countryside. The perfect stay.

Having originally found the accommodation through a hotel booking site, I now book direct. The rooms are as good as anything you’ll find in a business chain hotel, and the personal touch by the proprietor at breakfast completes the experience. Located in a small village with very good local facilities, the accommodation is superb, and heartily recommended.

Stayed here with 3 friends at the weekend. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left Lisa was the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble, even getting us into a local pub for lunch at short notice. Beautiful rooms and really comfy beds. We regularly visit the Waterbeach area and always stay at the Old School House Rooms.They are beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable with several welcome additional facilities not normally associated with similar accommodation,and the breakfast choice excellent.The ground floor rooms are essential as my husband has mobility problems which helps us, but we always enjoy coming as the owners and staff are extremely pleasant and welcoming and anxious to assist their guests in any way possible.

The owner is very helpful and pleasant.Clean modern room with plenty of sockets for the business traveller.Very good wifi signal.Lovely quiet location with a comfortably bed.

This was the 3rd time we stayed at the old school house. I cannot express what a lovely lady Lisa is. Nothing is too much trouble for her. The rooms are beautiful and the furniture is of the highest quality. There is always a very varied range of options available for breakfast, the full English being our personal favourite. I would not hesitate in recommending the old school house to anyone.

My daughter and I were very comfortable at the Old Schoolhouse. Our beds were excellent, bathrooms also .Our hostess supplied a large cooked breakfast and was warm and attentive. We found the noisy doors the only problem with our stay.

Our rooms had everything we needed and there is a conservatory to sit in and watch tv - very helpful as my husband is a very early riser and I could stay in bed! We came to Ely as a birthday treat for my husband. Our room was really clean and although quite small as advertised, I had booked the most expensive of the options in the hope I'd get the largest possible room! It had everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely - the fruit salad was full of watermelon chunks and the scrambled egg with smoked salmon was a real treat.My husband had Eggs Benedict and really enjoyed his birthday breakfast. The Old School House is well situated in Waterbeach with a couple of pubs and village shops close at hand, a bus stop across the road and there is parking at the back of the building.

Stayed for two nights for a reunion,Extremely customer focusedfrom the off, rooms lovely and good quality breakfast. We will be rebooking all the rooms for a weekend next year.

Extremely comfortable, warm and welcoming and a quick (10 minutes), easy train journey into Cambridge. For those feeling a bit more energetic you can easily walk along the river into Cambridge also. An ideal spot.

Stayed for one night for a business trip. Check in was simple, room was spotless, comfortable and had all basics you would need. Hosts were friendly but also respected privacy. Breakfast was quick and delicious.I would definitely stay here again if I am working in the area / recommend it.

The welcome at the old school house is always warm. Everyone is extremely pleasant and all go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are warm with extremely comfortable beds.

Positive: Lovely hospitality,clean room, specially these hot choclate and cookie. For cold winter, that is brilliant touch. I've stayed at the Old School House Rooms for quite a few weeks this year while working in Cambridge, so have had the chance to stay in many of the rooms on offer. All have been quiet, clean and comfortable. The hospitality from Tommy and Dee is unfailingly welcoming and breakfast consistently excellent. That's why I keep coming back!

Everything was absolutely perfect, except very thin wall with next door. Maybe it is different in other rooms since mine has an internal door.

This was a perfect B&B !Great location in the middle of the village. The village green was accross he Street. The pub was close by as was the local food shop.You get a terrific breakfast with you choice of special omelette, eggs Benedict, fruit , and lots more. Dee and Tommy Tajacs were great hosts. And you have to meet their beautiful border collie Ila.

We were extremely impressed with the quality of the presentation of the bedroom and the dining area in particular. Very comfy bed. Notably the best food we have eaten in a B&B anywhere! Lovely hosts. The shower pressure was a little poor, but this is the only fault we could muster, excellent B&B!

Have stayed here a few times now, and is my number one choice when staying over in Cambridge. Nice, spacious and comfy rooms, big bathrooms, well kept and the hosts do to every effort to make sure your stay is second to none. Definitely beats paying for a dull, boring hotel room

Last autumn we (two couples from Germany) stayed here for just one night and it was the start of our tour through England. Now that I am planning our next trip I remember the wonderful time we had at The Old School House Rooms. There was a very warm welcome, a comfortable room, and a delicious breakfast. A work colleague found the Old School House Rooms and suggested I stay here. So glad I did! I stay once or twice a month while visiting an office close by. This place is lovely. Rooms are clean and very nicely decorated. The breakfast is awesome (especially the omelettes!) and the owners are warm and welcoming. Will definitely keep coming back!

A good location, very close to the station and pubs. The property is well looked after, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and our only criticism would be our door rattling as others came and went woke us slightly earlier than we wanted. Having said that, we'd definitely go back.

Dee gave us a friendly welcome. Our twin room was spotless and quiet. We both had a good night's sleep. The beds now have duvets rather than blankets. There was a choice for breakfast and I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon which was delicious. Coffee from a machine was excellent. I will probably stay again because my daughter lives in the village but I will always check availability of the other good quality BBs in the area many of which are less expensive which is why I have awarded 4/5

Stayed withmy son while visiting my daughter in Cambridge.The Old School House is newly refurbished, everything is very crisp and fresh in a neutral, uncluttered style.The room isn't massive, but good value for Cambridge, given the high standard. For breakfast I had beautifully light scranbled eggs and smoked salmon (my son the full works) both were delicious. It's also a very quiet spot, and I had a lovely country walk in the morning.Very helpful owners (and charming grandsons).
